The read, step by step
- 1NY open trades below the value-area low — but the put wall at 30,600 holds and sellers can't extend.
- 2Back inside value with VIX falling. In positive vanna, falling IV pushes dealer delta down, so dealers buy futures to re-hedge. That's the bid.
- 3The rally runs into the call wall — the heaviest gamma on the board, lined up with DEX and the daily profile shelf. Buyers keep lifting; price stops moving.
- 4IV turns up and VIX stops falling: the vanna bid is gone. Sellers turn aggressive and CVD rolls over. Short on the close back below 30,800, stop above the probe.
- 5Long gamma means dealers sell rallies into the wall. Target the POC: +3.0R.
- Regime
- Long gamma. Dealers hedge against the move — sell rallies, buy dips — so the walls act as magnets, then ceilings.
- GEX
- Call wall at 30,800 (QQQ mapped to NQ): the highest concentration of call gamma. To stay delta-neutral there, dealers short futures. Two put walls below.
- DEX
- Call delta exposure clusters on the same strike — a large block of QQQ delta that has to be neutralised, and it tells you which way.
- VEX
- Positive vanna sitting above. VIX falling = dealers buying futures, which explains the rip from below VAL. When IV turns up, that support flips.
- Profile
- Call wall, DEX and the daily shelf within a few points. One level, three independent reasons.
- Orderflow
- Buyers absorbed into 30,800, then sell aggression and CVD rolling over. Confirmation, not prediction.
- Risk
- Stop above the probe high (28 pts). Target the POC: 84 pts = +3.0R.

The read, step by step
- 1The morning sold off and closed its first half-hour well down. Below the zero-gamma flip, dealers are short gamma and hedge with the move. The afternoon bounce runs on thin positive delta: short covering, not new buyers.
- 2It runs straight into VWAP, the gamma flip and the single prints left from the morning. 0DTE QQQ puts trade at the ask the whole way up.
- 3Rejected. Sell aggression hits, CVD rolls over and put DEX builds below. Short on the close back under VWAP, stop above the flip.
- 4Dealers sell futures as price falls toward the put wall. Cover into 30,468 before the close: +3.5R.
- Research
- Intraday momentum: the first half-hour's return predicts the last half-hour's (Gao, Han, Li & Zhou, JFE 2018). The effect is strongest when market-maker gamma is negative (Baltussen, Da, Lammers & Martens, JFE 2021). A tailwind, not a trigger.
- Regime
- Below zero gamma at 30,600. Dealers short gamma hedge with the move, so moves extend instead of mean-reverting.
- Options flow
- 0DTE QQQ puts bought at the ask through the bounce: someone is paying up for downside into the close.
- DEX
- Put delta building below 30,550. As price falls, dealers sell more futures to stay neutral.
- Profile & VWAP
- VWAP, the gamma flip and the morning's single prints sit within 15 pts. That's where the bounce runs out of reasons.
- Orderflow
- A rally on weak delta, then stacked sell aggression and CVD rolling over. That's the trigger.
- Risk
- Stop above the flip (32 pts). Target ahead of the put wall at 30,468: 112 pts = +3.5R.

What markets do we cover?
Index futures — ES and NQ, and their micros MES and MNQ. The tools transfer elsewhere, but every example and drill is built on index futures.
What do I need to start?
A charting platform with volume profile and VWAP, a replay or simulation account, and a journal. The first module walks through chart setup.
Will this make me profitable?
Nobody can honestly promise that. Most people who trade futures lose money. What you get is a defined process, feedback on how you apply it, and a way to measure whether it's working.
